About The Position

The Neonatal Program Coordinator (NPC) reports directly to the Director of NICU and assists with coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of the NICU Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program directly in line with the Neonatal Levels of Care Designation. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: supports the hospital’s Performance Improvement process; identifies performance trends; as well as prioritizes, and recommends improvements to attain the standards set forth by Designation. The NPC also plays a supportive role in ensuring compliance with all The Joint Commission (TJC) standards. The NPC will investigate specific areas of concern as identified by the NICU leadership team for both NICU and hospital initiatives. Provides leadership towards achieving compliance, and/or developing suitable alternatives that will meet regulatory requirements aligned with the hospital’s Mission and Values.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years Registered Nurse (RN) clinical experience in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).
  • Working knowledge of EMR documentation
  • Familiar with Neonatal Levels of Care Designation standards
  • Current RN License to practice in the State of Texas
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified.
  • STABLE certified.
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing required.
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to make effective group presentations.
  • Strong knowledge of Cerner Healthcare Information Technology.
  • Has knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served.
  • Ability to utilize computer software applications to include word processing, spreadsheets and power point
  • Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
