The AirLife Neonatal Nurse Practitioner utilizes their experience, education, and training to both autonomously and collaboratively deliver critical and specialty care to neonatal and newborn patients aboard fixed-wing aircraft, rotor wing aircraft, and ground ambulance between medical facilities. Utilizes advanced nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and, evaluation of patient care. Uses advanced knowledge of pathophysiology and technical skills to provide management of the neonate in referral centers and on transport including lab interpretation, XR interpretation, intubation, line placement, thoracentesis, thoracotomy, and intraosseous access. Coordinates, delivers, and documents all aspects of patient care in collaboration with referral teams, physicians, AirLife team members, patients, and families while adhering to established standards of care and scope of practice. Works autonomously and collaboratively, adhering to AirLife clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures with minimal support. • Maintains confidentiality of PHI in accordance with AirLife, HCA, and HIPAA standards. Demonstrates awareness of and routinely practices safe work habits and adheres to the AirLife Commitment to Safety. Maintains proficiency in flight physiology, general aircraft, and ambulance safety operations, and emergency procedures. Participates in quality improvement initiatives including chart reviews, data collection, and process improvement. Supports the mission of AirLife and HCA including the pillars of Safety, Service, Quality, People, and Growth and adheres to the AirLife Rules of the Game Participates in outreach activities including transport safety and clinical education. Completes orientation requirements within an appropriate timeframe as determined by AirLife Leadership. Performs other duties as assigned.
