About The Position

To practice in an advanced role to provide health maintenance for well newborns and infants, episodic care for ill infants, and comprehensive care for newborns and infants with chronic conditions. The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) practices through delegation of a medical staff attending and works collaboratively with other members of the health care team. Practicing under established guidelines, the NNP delivers medical aspects of care and assumes independent and interdependent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of treatment and procedures. Job duties are performed in a manner that is developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served. As an advanced practice nurse, the NNP may be involved in transport, education, consultation, research and evaluation of clinical practice at various levels.
