About The Position

We are seeking experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners for placement at hospitals and healthcare clinics in Corpus Christi, TX and the surrounding Coastal Bend region. These positions offer the opportunity to provide specialized care to newborns and premature infants in Level II and Level III NICU settings.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner specialization
  • Current NNP-BC certification from the National Certification Corporation (NCC)
  • Active RN license (Texas license required or ability to obtain; Canadian RNs eligible for TN visa sponsorship)
  • Current BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum 1-2 years of NICU experience preferred
  • Strong clinical skills in neonatal assessment, critical care, and advanced procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with families and healthcare teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Level III NICU or high-acuity neonatal settings
  • Experience with high-frequency ventilation and ECMO
  • Spanish language skills (bilingual English/Spanish a plus)
  • Previous experience in teaching hospitals or academic medical centers

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to neonatal patients in NICU settings, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Manage ventilator support, umbilical lines, and other critical care interventions for high-risk newborns
  • Perform procedures including intubation, chest tube placement, lumbar punctures, and umbilical catheter insertion
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Provide family-centered care including counseling and education for parents of NICU patients
  • Participate in delivery room resuscitations and stabilization of critically ill newborns
  • Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
