About The Position

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) at Children's Hospital Colorado provides expert Family-Centered Care to infants and toddlers up to age 2. This role involves delivering primary, acute, chronic, and critical care, collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient management. The NNP is responsible for conducting assessments, diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatments, and promoting health education, all while leading nursing and inter-professional teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing & Master's Degree in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP).
• Three years' combined experience as RN or NNP in a neonatal setting, with high-risk neonatal experience preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certificate; optional Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Registered Nurse License (RN); Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License; Prescriptive Authority License; Board Certification as a NNP.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary, acute, chronic, and critical care to infants and toddlers up to age 2.
• Conduct complete histories and physical examinations of patients.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic illnesses and diseases.
• Order, perform, supervise, and interpret laboratory and imaging studies.
• Prescribe medication and durable medical equipment as needed.
• Make appropriate referrals for patients and families.
• Engage in health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and counseling.
• Lead nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering communication and respect.
• Incorporate best current evidence with clinical expertise and patient/family preferences.
