About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Manager for a full-time, day-shift leadership opportunity in Austin, Texas. The NICU Manager ensures high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily operations, staffing, and clinical performance of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This leader monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures and holds staff accountable for quality, safety, and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives. The Manager plays a key role in developing a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes while ensuring adherence to standards of care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Compact RN license accepted with requirement to apply for Texas RN license within 60 days of hire and obtain TX RN license within 6 months
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Minimum 3–5 years of healthcare experience
  • Minimum 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role within an acute care setting
  • Specialty certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • NICU, L&D, or maternal-child leadership experience strongly preferred
  • NRP preferred
  • FHM preferred
  • RNC-OB preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and staffing of a Level III NICU
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivery to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Support efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations
  • Manage admissions and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and patient-centered care
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration within and across departments to support optimal patient outcomes
  • Ensure appropriate clinical competencies and staffing levels are maintained
  • Lead initiatives to enhance patient experience, quality outcomes, and family-centered care
  • Review patient and staff feedback to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Identify development opportunities and training needs for staff and leadership teams
