About The Position

The Neonatal ICU Registered Nurse (NICU) at Medical City Dallas is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill newborns in a Level IV NICU. This full-time position involves performing comprehensive nursing assessments, planning and implementing patient care plans, and supervising non-licensed nursing staff. The role emphasizes teamwork and support among nursing staff, with a focus on optimizing patient outcomes and incorporating education into nursing practice.

Requirements

• ADN is required; BSN is preferred and required within 2 years of hire.
• Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required.
• Must have one (1) year recent Level III or IV NICU RN experience in an acute care hospital.
• STABLE certification must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a Level IV NICU setting.
• Additional certifications in pediatric nursing.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and provide direct patient care.
• Plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
• Incorporate teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
