About The Position

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Neonatal Hospitalist to join our growing team at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville, FL. This is a unique opportunity to cover the newborn nursery in a practice in a high-acuity, autonomous environment with a supportive team and a hospital committed to expanding its Women's & Children's services. The position offers flexible scheduling allowing for a sustainable and rewarding lifestyle, with comprehensive coverage of a 25-bed Level III NICU and a 36-bed Newborn Nursery. The role includes daily rounding in the newborn nursery, supervision of family practice residents, and performing circumcisions, but does not involve deliveries. The facility features a modern NICU that opened in 2021 and provides advanced services such as body cooling and a regional transport team. There are also teaching opportunities with University of Central Florida family medicine residents.

Requirements

• BC/BE Pediatrician.

Responsibilities

• Cover the newborn nursery in a high-acuity, autonomous environment.
• Daily rounding in the newborn nursery.
• Supervision of family practice residents.
• Perform circumcisions.
• Collaborate with a cohesive group of experienced Neonatologists, NNPs, and supportive OB hospitalists.
