About The Position

The Emory Department of Pediatrics and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta are seeking Neonatal Hospitalists for Senior Associate Faculty. The position involves devoting 1.0 effort to clinical service within the Division of Neonatology, primarily seeing patients in the NICU at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Arthur M. Blank Hospital, Emory Midtown and Grady Memorial Hospital. The clinical service consists of 168 hours per month (14 12-hr shifts or 7 24-hr shifts or some combination thereof) as a member of the advanced practice provider (APP) team in the NICU, responsible for clinical management of approximately 8-10 infants under the direct supervision of the attending neonatologist. The role also includes educational responsibilities for fellows, residents, and medical students, participation in quality improvement and clinical research activities, and maintaining necessary certifications and licensure.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited, four-year medical school.
  • Graduate of an accredited, post-graduate residency program in Pediatrics.
  • Board Certified/ Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia.
  • BLS or PALS certification required.
  • Current DEA registration.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds when possible.

  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and clinical research activities.
  • Maintain Georgia state licensure, DEA certification, and appropriate facility privileges.
  • Participate in fellows’ conferences and didactic lectures for nurse practitioners.
