The Neon Bending Specialist plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, engaging educational programs for K–12 students and community members participating in The Neon Museum’s Glow on the Go outreach program. This position offers a flexible schedule of 30-40 hours per week and is therefore recognized as full-time and fully eligible for benefits and retirement plan. The Neon Bending Specialist focuses primarily on demonstrating the entire neon bending, processing, and installation procedure in our mobile neon bending studio. The role also manages the studio, ensuring that supplies are organized, workspaces are clean, and safety protocols are strictly adhered to. Additionally, the Neon Bending Specialist provides internal training for TNM team members so that they can confidently and accurately speak about the process and science of neon bending. The ideal candidate has experience creating neon signage in an artistic, educational, or commercial setting. They will be familiar with the science behind neon lights, experienced in bending letters as well as shapes, and excited to share their knowledge and expertise with both youth and adult audiences. MUST include 2-5 work samples with your resume that reflect your early neon work as well as a more recent piece.
