Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Nemours Health Informatics & Technology Pharmacist to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware. The Nemours Health Informatics and Technology Pharmacist provides advanced medication systems analysis to support medication-related clinical functions across the Nemours enterprise. Leveraging clinical expertise, the analyst will understand the integration between pharmacy, clinical documentation, and inpatient and ambulatory prescribers. This role involves gaining in-depth knowledge of the software, configuring and maintaining software applications, and identifying medication-related components to optimize clinical effectiveness, patient safety, and compliance with local, state, federal, and other regulatory requirements related to pharmacy informatics systems. The NHI&T pharmacist drives innovation, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and provides mentorship while utilizing data analytics to enhance clinical practices.

  • Achieve and maintain one or more application-specific certifications in accordance with vendor requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and systematic skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects across various facilities.
  • Manage multiple projects of significant complexity simultaneously, including oversight of interdisciplinary project teams and strategic initiatives. Coordinate with external vendors to ensure successful product development and delivery.
  • Be proficient in managing and coordinating with external vendors, demonstrating strong communication and negotiation skills to align vendor capabilities with project requirements, and oversee project timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
  • Research and select appropriate technology for solutions, develop technical content for RFI/RFP, lead the evaluation process, and assist in developing budgetary estimates for the implementation of selected solutions.
  • Recommend implementing specific application functionality based on workflow, work processes, and available products, and analyze system enhancement decisions to modify Pharmacy and Oncology applications to meet unique operational requirements without compromising data or system integrity, thereby supporting medication safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct medication workflow analyses with clinical areas to optimize the use of NHI&T applications, technology, and electronic medical records.
  • Utilize advanced clinical expertise and knowledge to bridge the gap between clinical practice and informatics, ensuring that medication management processes are optimized for safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Provide support for Tier 1 applications, take responsibility for system integrity and disaster recovery processes, and coordinate internal and external resources for server management and patching. Create and maintain documentation, such as user manuals and system specifications, as needed.
  • Facilitate and participate in Change Control and governance meetings, including Change Control, Patch Management, EMR Taskforce, and the enterprise nursing informatics council.
  • Work with vendor representatives, the organization's clinical community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's needs. Contribute to the professional development of business and clinical staff to improve patient care, increase cash collections, and reduce denials. Develop and deliver training programs for healthcare staff on the effective use of technology systems.
  • Create and analyze reports, dashboards, and AI functions to identify trends and insights that can improve healthcare services and provide clinical decision support to healthcare providers.
  • Promptly resolve issues, respond to assigned ServiceNow tickets within defined timeframes, efficiently resolve issues in a timely manner, and actively participate in on-call duties.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in a clinical setting required.
  • Registered Pharmacist (RPh) required.
  • Epic Certification in the Willow Inpatient pharmacy, Willow Ambulatory, Specialty Pharmacy, Beacon, or Epic Certification in Ambulatory, depending upon the role required (It is preferred to have the EPIC Certification(s) upon hire. If not available upon hire, must be obtained in accordance with vendor requirements).
  • Strong software and application knowledge.
  • Prior experience in pharmacy, clinical work, healthcare operations or IT is required.
