About The Position

The Principal serves as the site-based leader of the school, responsible for implementing and managing policies, regulations, procedures, and curriculum to ensure a safe learning environment and high-quality instruction for all students. This role encompasses leadership in curriculum development, program evaluation, personnel management, financial oversight, and ensuring compliance with educational standards.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • 4 - 10 years related experience in school administration preferred.
  • Experience in student instruction.
  • Completion of Educational Leadership Program or equivalent.

  • Detailed knowledge of Federal, State, and local requirements for K-12 schools and charter school law preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the school, including federal and state grants, school volunteers, and fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and coordinate educational programs in accordance with school and state standards.
  • Supervise the guidance program to enhance individual student education and development.
  • Lead school-level planning for the development, implementation, and evaluation of all school programs and activities.
  • Supervise instructional programs, evaluate lesson plans, and observe classes regularly.
  • Request and allocate supplies, equipment, and instructional materials as required.
  • Formulate student personnel policies within school guidelines.
  • Approve and supervise school student activity programs.
  • Oversee career exploration programming and initiatives.
  • Plan, organize, and direct implementation of all school activities.
  • Establish and promote high standards and expectations for academic performance and behavior.
  • Maintain a professional rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Operate the school within the approved budget and follow budgetary guidelines.
  • Delegate authority to responsible personnel in the absence of the principal.
  • Monitor safety, security, and effectiveness of school programs through regular tours.
  • Supervise all operations involving school funds, payroll, purchases, and office operations.
  • Prepare and submit the school's budgetary requests and monitor expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and policies.
  • Communicate regularly with the supervisor about the school's needs and performance.
  • Supervise and establish schedules for student supervision in non-classroom areas.
  • Manage and administer the school workers compensation program.
  • Oversee compliance with ethical business office policies and practices.
