Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. For more information about Parkwood Behavioral Health System, please visit our website at https://parkwoodbhs.com/. We are currently seeking a Needs Assessor to work on a weekend basis. The Needs Assessor provides telephone and walk-in risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process including insurance pre-certification and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff.

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description.
  • The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.
  • Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to varied population of patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.
  • Master’s Degree required in a behavioral health field or crentials/education as a Registered Nurse.
  • Prefer prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting
  • LCSW / LPC / LMFT / RN, Advance Practice Mental Health Professional license is highly preferred.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Prefer knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
