About The Position

The Necropsy Supervisor will engage in the direct supervision of technical staff for the Necropsy group actively assisting as required. Responsible for implementing policies, processes and procedures that affect employees and the workflow of the group. The Necropsy Supervisor will be responsible for recognizing opportunities for cross-departmental collaboration that will advance the Team’s ability to efficiently and accurately complete studies and deliver an excellent product to our sponsors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required. Undergraduate degree in animal or life sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of management experience preferred.
  • LATG certification preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office core applications and the ability to learn and use additional applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of GLPs and other federal regulations relating to preclinical research
  • Excellent understanding of study design and protocols
  • Excellent understanding of laboratory operations and data collection

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the Necropsy Department including, but not limited to, communicating expectations and business needs to direct reports.
  • Oversee performance, development, training needs and accomplishments for all direct reports.
  • In collaboration with Human Resources hire staff as needed and resolve all Employee Relations issues.
  • Identify and/or provide training to staff.
  • Recognize, initiate, and facilitate process improvements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of departmental systems and SOPs.
  • Assist in the development and communication of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to scheduling, planning and data review.
  • Track necropsy related metrics
  • Responsible for Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), protocol, and regulatory compliance of all direct reports.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned
