About The Position

Near Peers will report to the Sports Camp Director to help children build
friendships, learn history/heritage or seven different sports, explore new
interests, and have fun while playing. In addition to program activities, Near
Peers will have opportunities for:

Leading team meetings with Sports Director and camp volunteers
Planning and communication skills
Facilitating Sports activities in skills, assessments, and fair play.

Requirements

• Candidates need to possess good communication skills
• have general knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• the ability to collaborate with others

Nice To Haves

• A background in education or previous work with elementary-aged students is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead Sports activities
• Guide and coach Sports Campers in Sports activities
• Supervise campers on Sports field trips when applicable.
• Lead meaningfully in conflict resolution
• Maintain documentation of program measurements including attendance, participation, and camp outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Sports Camp Director to prepare written lesson plans
• Work with Sports Camp Director and Sports Campers to plan and execute weekly competitions.
