The NDT 1 Technician will work under the direct supervision of an NDT Level 2 Technician to obtain the technical knowledge and hands-on training hours required with the goal of successfully obtaining an NDT Level 2 certification and perform various inspection tasks independently. They must be familiar with OSHA requirements for safety and hot work onboard naval vessels. Duties include, but are not limited to: An NDT Level 1 individual should be qualified to properly perform specific calibrations, specific NDT processes (VT, MT & PT) and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and to record results. Perform work scope review, procedural reviews, and documentation required and preparations of equipment and/or supplies needed. Perform inspections and completed required documentation under the supervision of an NDT Level II Technician. Assist and support NDT Level II Technician with various types of inspection.
