About The Position

The NDT 1 Technician will work under the direct supervision of an NDT Level 2 Technician to obtain the technical knowledge and hands-on training hours required with the goal of successfully obtaining an NDT Level 2 certification and perform various inspection tasks independently. They must be familiar with OSHA requirements for safety and hot work onboard naval vessels. Duties include, but are not limited to: An NDT Level 1 individual should be qualified to properly perform specific calibrations, specific NDT processes (VT, MT & PT) and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and to record results. Perform work scope review, procedural reviews, and documentation required and preparations of equipment and/or supplies needed. Perform inspections and completed required documentation under the supervision of an NDT Level II Technician. Assist and support NDT Level II Technician with various types of inspection. Requirements

  • Must be able to work in the US.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid California driver's license.
  • Must possess basic skills (reading, writing and mathematical skills).
  • Completion of a satisfactory background check
  • Passing a drug test and physical examination
  • Eligibility to work in the US.
  • Obtaining DBIDS level security clearance.
  • OSHA 10 Maritime

Nice To Haves

  • A plus, previous experience in a ship repair environment.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and prepare technical documentation, specifications, and procedures.
  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) computer skills.
  • Understand the Naval Ship Repair requirements and working environment.
