About The Position

The NDT Tech’s role is to perform verification of in-process shop fabrication dimensions based on shop drawings and specifications. Also perform NDT procedures to include MT, UT, and RT testing as applicable.

Requirements

• Level II MT, RT, and UT (min. of two certifications required)
• High School Diploma
• Must be able to read and understand codes, and specifications. Will ensure all inspections comply with applicable standards and specifications.
• Must be able to communicate in a professional manner and show respect both orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, other departments, and managers.

Responsibilities

• Verifies conformance of product to shop drawings and contract requirements through:
• Dimensional checks with a tape measure to drawings
• Visual inspection of welds, NDT testing to include MT, RT, and UT as applicable
• Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
• Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of Inspection
• Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict
• Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
• Actively participate in Safety meetings and promote company safety culture while working closely with the safety department.
