About The Position

The NDT Technician II will work under the direct supervision of the Responsible Level III NDT Manager. This role involves performing non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections and maintenance functions as an MRO NDT Technician, supporting aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 400 hours of documented NDT experience and 32 hours of documented formal training in the Liquid Penetrant (PT) method.
  • Minimum 530 hours of documented NDT experience and 32 hours of documented formal training in the Magnetic Particle (MT) method.
  • Ability to gain and maintain NAS-410 Level 2 certification in Magnetic Particle (MT) and Liquid Penetrant (PT) inspection within 3 months of hire.
  • Certified per FAR Part 65.
  • Able to obtain maintenance release and inspection authorizations within six months of on-the-job training learning CHI parts and processes.
  • Ability to understand repair station procedures, quality management system procedures (maintenance and manufacturing) and associated federal aviation regulations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as assigned, dependent on production needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Documented NDT experience and formal training in the Eddy Current (ET) and/or Ultrasonic (UT) method.
  • Ability to gain and maintain certifications for NAS-410 Eddy Current (ET) and Ultrasonic (UT) inspection within 2 years of hire is preferred.
  • Familiarity with NADCAP and AS9100/AS9110 quality systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections using various nondestructive testing methods (e.g., Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Radiographic).
  • Interpret and evaluate results in accordance with applicable standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Document findings, prepare inspection reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Support aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul projects by providing reliable NDT results.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer’s manuals, and company procedures.
  • Maintain NDT equipment and ensure proper calibration and operation.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in continuous training and recertification as required.
