About The Position

Turbine Controls MRO, a VSE Aviation Company (“TC MRO”) is a globally recognized maintenance, repair and overhaul facility with over 180 employees and more than 45 years of expertise in engine component and accessory repair services. Our locations in Bloomfield, Connecticut and Miramar, Florida service original equipment manufacturers, airlines, engine centers, asset managers and government agencies supporting components and LRU's for commercial, military, airframe and industrial applications. The NDT Technician II will be responsible for conducting and interpreting non-destructive tests on various aircraft components and structures using advanced NDT methods. This individual must hold a Level 2 NDT certification. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of parts, while maintaining compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant NDT experience, including Eddy Current (ET) inspections. Or an Associates degree in lieu of 2 years experience.
  • Possess current Level 2 NDT certification(s) in accordance with NAS 410, or an equivalent standard, or be eligible.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ASTM, ASME, and NAS, as well as FAA and EASA regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions based on inspection data.
  • Communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using basic computer software (Microsoft Office, data entry systems).

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years of relevant NDT experience in the aerospace or aviation industry.
  • FAA Repairman or Inspector Authorization (IA) certification.
  • Additional certification in other NDT methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and interpret non-destructive tests on aerospace components using a variety of NDT techniques. This includes the preparation of parts before or after testing in accordance with approved work instructions.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and ensure proper documentation of all findings, ensuring compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Set up and calibrate NDT equipment, and conduct tests in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
  • Interpret and evaluate test results according to applicable standards, codes, and specifications, and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Review and analyze work orders, technical manuals, and blueprints to determine appropriate NDT methods and inspection criteria.
  • Provide guidance and training to Level 1 NDT Inspectors.
  • Maintain NDT equipment and conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, and company safety, quality, and environmental policies.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
