Radiographs metal castings and inspect images and castings for flaws and misorientations by performing the following duties. Laue Level I and II Certification is required to perform this function. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Grain Laue Level 2 inspector inspects casting grain and makes accept / reject decisions based on acceptance criteria. Places parts in fixtures and takes Laue X-ray images. Uses templates to measure single crystal grain angle Aligns castings on Laue unit. Processes casting in accordance with approved Laue techniques. Verifies grain structures are acceptable to required techniques. Monitors working area to protect personnel. Performs daily equipment preparation and radiation safety inspections.
