This role provides advanced technical expertise in non‑destructive testing methods, ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of critical shipyard components and systems throughout the RCOH lifecycle.
Requirements
- High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 8 years of related experience, to include specific systems expertise. Prefer technical/professional certifications. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
- Candidate must be able to interpret and fully comprehend NAVSEA drawings.
- Candidate must have prior NDT/QA experience.
- Candidate must be able to provide NDT certifications.
- Candidate must have experiencing working in a team environment with QA and production members.
- Candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidate must be able to pass NDT qualifications within 90 days of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in NAVSEA Standard Items, MIL-STD-271, MIL-STD-1689. Prior shipyard experience.
Responsibilities
- Considered subject matter expert in technical specialty.
- May work directly with customer or customer representatives, attend meetings and deploy for special projects.
- Ability to manage, oversee, schedule and assign tasks to one or more multiple jobs.
- Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
- Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
- Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.
- Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
- Maintains effective customer communications and relations.
- May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
