About The Position
The X-Ray Shooter position at Precision Castparts Corp. involves shooting x-rays of cast parts according to QES instructions. The role requires the operator to place parts in trays, load them into the X-Ray machine, and operate the machine to produce legible x-rays. The position demands familiarity with practical theory, manuals, and source books to assist in utilizing techniques effectively. The X-Ray Shooter must also be knowledgeable about the types and locations of expected defects in the fabrication process, set up and calibrate equipment, and direct and carry out tests. Additionally, the operator is responsible for maintaining a clean work area, adhering to safety procedures, and meeting efficiency standards. The role may also require working overtime and maintaining a positive work atmosphere.
