About The Position

Designs, develops and implements nondestructive testing (NDT) to evaluate the properties and conformance of a material, component or system without causing damage. Records, analyzes and reports test results. Writes testing plans and maintains test documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements. Impact of the Role General Profile Requires full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience Completes a variety of atypical assignments Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignments Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Requirements

  • Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • NAS 410 Certification Level 2
  • State issued industrial radiographer certificate
  • Ability to achieve Level I or Level 2 certification in alignment with NAS 410 standards, through education, training, and testing, and perform the required Level 2 requirements

Responsibilities

  • Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
  • Develop specific calibrations and tests.
  • Document results in accordance with the specification.
  • Identifies errors and defects in equipment.
  • Use of ultrasound, radiography, or other techniques during the testing process.
  • Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
  • Maintain or develop procedures, policies, and techniques as necessary.
  • Train subordinate personnel in the various NDT disciplines and techniques.
  • Maintain documentation for training and experience hours.
