About The Position

This position Inspects industrial gas turbine castings for flaws, cracks, or presence of foreign materials and process related deviations by performing the following duties. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities Operates Borescope processing equipment. Have the skills and knowledge to set-up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results. Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the Borescope technique and inspection method. Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standards and customer requirements. Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainee personnel. Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the Borescope method. Be capable of developing work instructions from approved general procedures. Such work instructions require final approval by Borescope Level 3. Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology. Perform systems checks, and calibrations on all associated equipment related to Borescope process within predetermined limits. Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime. Have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • Current or previous Borescope Level 2 certification.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a certified Borescope Level 2 inspector
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Internal certification with re-certification every five years required.
  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from management.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and circumference.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
