About The Position

The position involves performing metallurgical inspection processing on various parts at Pratt & Whitney, focusing on nondestructive testing methods. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Maintain Level I NDT certification as required.
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to certain information.

Nice To Haves

• Level 2 NDT OJT hours is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical inspection processing on a variety of development, production, and overhaul/repair parts.
• Utilize methods such as fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle, and etch for nondestructive testing.
• Work from detailed procedures, technique sheets, and verbal instructions to process parts and maintain records.
• Set up and operate equipment, checking and adjusting as necessary to ensure valid test results.
• Identify recurring processing problems and recommend changes to methods or equipment to minimize issues.
• Assist certified Level II inspectors in identifying and addressing non-conformances.
• Perform routine servicing and upkeep of equipment following specified procedures.
• Assist with new equipment or process tryouts and other specialized assignments as needed.
• Refer problems to the supervisor for resolution.
• Carry out additional tasks within the scope of the job description to support department objectives.
