About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the NDT Tech II performs basic nondestructive testing to verify the structural integrity of Titanium and Aluminum Rotating Hardware, uses conventional and automated ultrasonic, radiographic, Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and other NDT test methods, e.g., FPI, and performs NDT on aircraft parts and evaluate test results by analyzing and interpreting the data in accordance with customer requirements

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Non-Destructive Testing in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.
  • This job role requires proficiency in English, both verbal and written, that is sufficient to understand and effectively follow written safety procedures, company policies, work instructions, operations manuals, and more in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performing NDT Tests on various Rotating Hardware.
  • Undertaking training in NDT Methods to achieve Level 2 in Eddy Current, Fluorescent Penetrant, Radiographic, and Ultrasonic Testing to Specification NAS-410.
  • Implementing Procedures, Instruction & Techniques as required.
  • Performing Control Checks on Test Method capability.
  • Documenting and advising local team members of test outcome
  • Review and implement customer requirements; such as: Engineering Drawings, Process Specifications and other industry standards. Develop and maintain processes, test methodology and procedures. Understand manufacturing methods and part construction, as it relates to the NDT data.
  • Operate ultrasonic equipment; such as: a-scan & resonance scopes, phased array equipment and automated scanning systems. Operate x-ray equipment; such as: robotic scanners and computed radiography data acquisition systems.
  • Other test equipment may include: eddy current scopes and helium mass spectrometers.
  • Identify and investigate new technologies, processes and/or procedures to maintain or improve NDT capabilities, efficiencies, etc.
  • Interface with engineers, internal & external customers, manufacturing personnel and management to improve processes. Provide guidance, leadership and instruction to other NDT technicians.
  • Integrate improvements to realize benefits in cost, cycle, and customer satisfaction.
  • Performs other assignments and tasks as directed.
