About The Position

The NDT Inspector performs non-destructive testing on aircraft engine components to detect surface and subsurface defects without compromising part integrity. Inspections are conducted in accordance with OEM manuals, FAA regulations, and company quality standards. The inspector interprets and documents results and collaborates with inspection, repair, and production teams to support safe and airworthy maintenance operations. The inspector must be appropriately certificated under Part 65 for assigned work, be able to read, write, and understand English in accordance with 14 CFR 145.153, and meet company authorization requirements for assigned inspection authority.

Requirements

  • Prior completion of required training for specific Level I or Level II NDT method. Certificate of Achievement or OJT training record required.
  • 9 months or more of previous experience for specific level.
  • Certifications and qualifications must meet the requirements of SNT-TC-1A and/or NAS 410.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of NDT concepts, ability to perform within company quality standards.
  • Language – English, business proficiency.
  • Standing, walking, bending.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to chemicals.
  • Work with industrial equipment in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) including Magnetic Particle (MT), Fluorescent Penetrant (PT), Eddy Current (ET), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on aircraft parts and components.
  • Evaluate inspection results and determine acceptability in accordance with approved data, standards, and company procedures.
  • Perform inspections of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations for which authorized, in accordance with 14 CFR Part 65 and company procedures.
  • Accomplish inspections and Required Inspection Items (RII) when authorized, ensuring compliance with approved data and company standards.
  • Verify required tooling and NDT equipment are used and calibration status is valid prior to use.
  • Inspect major repairs and alterations to confirm compliance with approved data and absence of unauthorized deviations.
  • Record inspection results, discrepancies, and corrective actions in accordance with company procedures.
  • Generate and sign FAA Form 337 and perform Airworthiness Release duties when authorized and required.
  • Conduct inspection tasks per company task cards, documenting defects and ensuring proper sign-off and traceability.
  • Complete inspection turnover and communicate incomplete tasks to incoming inspectors as required.
  • Perform receiving inspection when assigned and report conditions affecting airworthiness, safety, or maintenance efficiency to supervision.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality personnel.
  • Stay current with NDT methods, technology, and regulatory requirements.
  • Be familiar with the company’s safety policies, procedures, and tools relevant to their responsibilities.
  • Understand and properly use the confidential employee reporting system.
  • Complete all required safety, SMS, and job-specific training and maintain competence.
  • Use proper tools, equipment, and approved technical data to perform work safely.
  • Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Immediately report all emergencies, incidents, accidents, and identified hazards to management and the Quality/Safety Department.
  • Communicate safety-related information that may help prevent mishaps or improve operational safety.
