NDT TECHNICIAN II/III Based out of Rocket Lab's Headquarters in Long Beach, CA the Non-Destructive Testing Technician is responsible for Inspecting tube sub-assemblies for the Rutherford & Archimedes engine. (Please note: this position can be hired at the NDT Technician II or NDT Technician III level)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in aviation, aerospace, or similar industry
  • Experience performing NDT testing within the aerospace industry
  • Experience inspecting advanced materials such as high strength aluminum alloys, precipitation hardened steels, Inconel, Monel, titanium, and Maraging steel (super alloys)
  • Knowledge of NDT Standards such as; AS, AMS, AWS, NAS, ASME, ASTM
  • High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of mechanical assembly and/or mechanical fitting experience
  • Certified in American Welding Society (AWS) or Certified in Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • Experience in improving capability of NDT processes to eliminate escape of non-conforming products, efficiency improvements, productivity, and flow

Responsibilities

  • Perform surface and volumetric NDT inspections
  • Support research and development of system qualification and certification for critical processes
  • Support the development of NDT inspection techniques for complex geometries
