About The Position

Element has an opportunity for a NDT FPI/MPI Inspector Trainee our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be able to speak, read and write and comprehend English fluently. Must be able to converse with the operators in a calm fashion when issues are brought to you.
• Must be able to perform the four basic mathe functions, addition, subtracting , multiplication and division. Must be able to count parts and reconcile against travelers.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• To perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of database software, spreadsheet software and word processing software including e-mailing.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. is expected. Mechanical aids are available for weights over 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for an extended period of time.

Responsibilities

• Counts, inspects articles to verify contents of shipments against the travelers by performing the following duties.
• Verifies that traveler matches identification on customer’s’ containers/product.
• Unpack customers ‘parts from the containers they were received in and store empty containers in a neat manner to ensure they do not become damaged or contaminated
• If product has none of the above continue prepping parts for processing (vapor degrease, hand clean etc.)
• Visually inspect parts for any incoming damage, also verify the quantities and show acceptance by initialing the traveler.
