The NDT Assistant will support the Level II NDE Technician in various non-destructive testing (NDT) activities while gaining practical experience and knowledge in the field. This role involves assisting with equipment setup, maintenance, documentation, and ensuring safety protocols are followed during radiographic operations.

  • Assist technicians with setting up and tearing down of equipment
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibrations, and overall upkeep of equipment and facilities
  • Assist with proper documentation and reports of services provided
  • Learn and abide by company policies and procedures
  • Operate radiographic equipment under the direct supervision of a radiographer or radiographic instructor
  • Maintain constant surveillance and immediate control of industrial radiographic equipment
  • Secure industrial radiographic equipment from unauthorized removal
  • Prevent unauthorized personnel from entering restricted areas during equipment use
  • Notify safety management personnel in the event of an incident and provide assistance as needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks and respond to short notice work assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and co-workers
  • Ability to read technical documents and engineering specifications (preferred)
  • Proven ability to follow precise directions and procedures
  • Proven ability to adapt to an ever-changing schedule
  • Experience in a plant/refinery environment
  • Familiarity with safety equipment and protocols
