About The Position

The NDI Specialist at Bell Textron is a technical role focused on supporting the Quality Operations Nondestructive Testing Department. This position involves the development, execution, and oversight of x-ray and shearography inspections, contributing to manufacturing, engineering, and quality projects to ensure robust and cost-effective products. Requirements

  • NAS 410 Level 2 or equivalent x-ray certification with experience in testing and inspection of aircraft components; weldments, metal and composite fabricated parts.
  • Texas Industrial Radiographer Certification (Current or Qualified for Texas Exam).
  • Documentation for previous certifications and/or classroom and on-the-job training experience.
  • Capable of working autonomously under general supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.
  • Excellent communicator, able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and suppliers.

Nice To Haves

  • NAS 410 Level 2 certification with experience in testing and inspection of aircraft components for methods like Shearography, Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Penetrant, Magnetic Particle inspections.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
  • Familiarization with BTI systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operates computed radiography, fluoroscope, portable x-ray and shearography systems.
  • Completes process checks.
  • Inspects parts in accordance with NDT specifications and procedures for various advanced materials, composites, metals and weldments.
  • Develops and reviews NDT procedures.
  • Supports inspection, engineering and manufacturing personnel for special inspections.
  • Performs computer data entry using various Manufacturing Execution Systems and Microsoft Office software.
  • Requires some travel and shift flexibility depending on business need.
