This role supports innovation projects focused on developing medical technologies while the incumbent participates in the Innovation Fellowship training program. The position involves assisting with the management of innovation projects from their initial concept through to commercialization, ensuring that all timelines, milestones, and deliverables are met. Key responsibilities include providing technical expertise and engineering support for the development of pediatric medical devices, which encompasses prototyping, testing, and design. The engineer will also facilitate effective communication and collaboration among clinical innovators, external partners, and internal teams. A significant part of the role is participation in specialized training programs covering front-end innovation, human-centric observation techniques, needs identification, concept generation, and intellectual property strategy. Additionally, the position involves assisting in the development of regulatory and reimbursement strategies, as well as creating business plans for new medical technologies, which includes market analysis and customer discovery. The engineer will engage with medical innovators to identify unmet medical needs and opportunities for innovation through clinical immersion and observation. Finally, the role requires preparing and presenting project documentation, such as invention disclosures, grant applications, and progress reports, to support the commercialization process.
