About The Position
BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Technical Specialist to join our team. This position will be assigned to the GIS Unit, where the primary focus will be on providing advanced GIS-focused Business Analysis and Project Management support to the GIS Unit's Technical Team. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Application Development, Spatial Database, Geospatial Services, Systems Engineering, and Architecture teams. The responsibilities of this position include coordinating the delivery of high-quality applications and services across several enterprise technical teams. The Technical Specialist will provide detailed schedule and resource information to the unit's Project Controls Analyst, which is essential for effective resource planning and scheduling. Additionally, the role involves gathering and documenting requirements for specific projects, tracking and guiding tasks on those projects, and assisting with managing project timelines. In certain circumstances, the Technical Specialist will also assist with testing and troubleshooting system issues and facilitate collaboration around the delivery of software. Regular use of Microsoft DevOps will be required to support these efforts. Candidates currently located in North Carolina will be given preference for this position, which is expected to last for 12 months under a contract arrangement. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible, although this is subject to change. BCforward will provide official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. The position is full-time, requiring more than 30 hours weekly, and is on-site in Raleigh, NC.
