The HVAC Maintenance Worker is responsible for the operation, repair, maintenance, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

  • Ensure automated or computerized control systems, stationary engines and associated auxiliary equipment are operating normally and to specifications.
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment, computer terminals, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, meters, and other instruments to measure temperature and pressure to detect equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform a wide variety of maintenance and repairs, operate and maintain designated buildings and related equipment to ensure a safe, healthy, and clean building environment.
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to maintenance staff and sub-contractors in preventive, corrective and demand based tasks.
  • Analyze and record instrument readings utilizing designated operational logs, maintenance records and completion of safety related documentation.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of facility maintenance staff, contractors, and equipment specialists engaged in corrective service.
  • Accountable for shift activities, customer follow-up, handling major emergencies, and dealing with events effectively with limited support and supervision from management.
  • Be on call on a rotational basis and for emergency callout as required.
  • Monitor Control Room activities during a shift; decide when to switch, change or reset the monitored systems.
  • Provide support services for all buildings, maintain and update log, and enter service requests.
  • Operate building automation systems.
  • Ensure essential systems are properly functioning by walking through the plant or remote facilities.
  • Perform corrective maintenance on equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems to determine functional problems and make repairs as needed.
  • Routinely utilize all safety measures as related to work orders and specific tasks.
  • Diploma or equivalent required. Preferred, Trade, or Tech School in Refrigeration.
  • At least 5 to 7 years of related and progressive experience, including 5 years of general maintenance experience with 2 years of experience operating computerized building automation systems.
  • Working knowledge of all applicable EPA standards related to the position.
  • Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (e.g. Apogee and Schneider Electric).
  • Must maintain required callout and/or certifications by respective Authorities Having Jurisdiction (e.g. Universal CFC Certification, Steam Engineering Licensure).
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Work requires an abundance of walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing ladders, and working in uncomfortable positions.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
