NC Pre-K Lead Teacher
About The Position

The NC Pre-K Lead teacher assumes primary role in designing and implementing activity plans, record-keeping, care and supervision of children in the classroom, communicating with parents and administrative staff, and delegates appropriate duties and responsibilities to the teacher’s assistant.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum of completion of Early Childhood Credential I and II plus completion of or currently enrolled in 9 additional credit hours in Child Development or related field from a community college or university.
- Experience: At least one year working in a preschool classroom at a licensed center.
- Skills/ physical/working conditions: Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license and be insurable by Eliada’s insurance carriers. The position requires excellent verbal and writing skills for communicating effectively and professionally with co-workers, parents, and other visitors.

Responsibilities
- Writes and implements daily/weekly lesson plans for children in classroom that are developmentally appropriate for the children in care.
- Ensures that children’s physical, emotional, and educational needs are met through close visual supervision and observation of group and one-on-one interactions with individual children.
- Assists the Director in devising service plans for children with special needs.
- Ensures that necessary classroom records/documents are kept current, organized, and on file.
- Communicates with administrative staff to ensure that licensing, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained in the classroom.
- Provides leadership by acting as positive, motivating role model for teacher and teacher’s assistant and creates professional climate for carrying out the daily operations of the classroom.
