This position is for our 2nd shift (3:30pm-12am, Monday-Friday) As a NC Operator , you will read job specifications to determine machine adjustments, material requirements, quantity, and job sequence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to operate a crane, previous forklift experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; ability to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and peripheral vision.
  • Manual dexterity in hands for various tool usage.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be able to operate a crane, previous forklift experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments, material requirements, quantity, and job sequence.
  • Manually sets tools and punches as specified by setup sheets.
  • Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Measures work piece dimensions with the use of ruler, templates, calipers, square, tape measure, and micrometer, to determine accuracy of machine operation.
  • Engages program to begin cutting or punching holes in material.
  • Manually lifts material onto machine.
  • Reads blueprints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
  • CNC programming required to set machine up, including but not limited to, changing specifications and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains tools in proper location and condition, including assembly, sharpening and critical visual inspection.
  • Inspects work pieces before use to eliminate damaged pieces and after use to ensure high quality.
  • Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled.
  • Observe and follow all safety rules.
  • Must work cohesively with machine operators, maintenance, and others.
  • Must be proficient in AS400 and Microsoft applications.
  • May train other operators.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
