We are seeking a NC Cutting Machine Operator to join our team! This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are 3rd Shift Sunday, 10:00PM-6:00AM Monday-Thursday, 8:30PM-6:00AM.  Overtime and Saturdays as needed.

This position will, under general supervision, sets up and operates N.C. Cutting Machine/Laser using proper procedures as outlined on computed program to punch and/or burn holes in metal.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and reach up to 7 feet

Nice To Haves

• Experience with hand, power, and measuring tools a plus!

Responsibilities

• Set-up using computed program in accordance with orders.
• Enter program number from routing sheet.
• Check material for proper size.
• Gather punches and dies with proper clearance.
• Check program for latest revision and approval.
• Transfer A.S.M.E. code markings as specified.
• Do minor maintenance.
• Change consumables, clean machine and empty water trough.
• Do quality checks as required.
• Recommend ordering tooling and consumables.
• Attend all required meetings.
• Required to fill out job cards, data sheets and reports accurately and legibly.
• Follow program sequence in operation.
• Check reference to align table relative to specifications tooling required as computed program specifies. Select tooling required as computed program specifics. Set clamps as required.
• Inserting proper gauge and cut of steel, which is precut to comply with order. Keep alert on panel reading of controls for interference of clamps, tooling, etc.
• Moves material in and out of department as required.
• May be required to operate powered truck and/or hand truck, if licensed.
• Refers unusual problems to supervisor.
• Work station must be kept clean and organized.
• Performs other work as directed commensurate with this or lessor rated labor grades.
