About The Position

Northfield Bank is seeking a Small Business Relationship Manager to expand the Bank's C & I loan portfolio in the New York Market. This role involves working with Branches and Business Development Officers on commercial loan requests ranging from $250,000 to $750,000, as well as prospecting for new business relationships and cross-selling Bank products.

Requirements

• Must maintain a valid driver's license.
• Use of personal vehicle may be necessary to conduct business.

Responsibilities

• Manage all lending activities including soliciting, pre-screening, underwriting, negotiation, and presentation of loan requests.
• Train Branches and Business Development Officers on identifying good commercial loan opportunities and assist in submitting a loan package for approval.
• Determine loan feasibility by analyzing the financial condition, operating performance, and repayment ability of borrowers.
• Approve loans within established approval matrix.
• Develop and maintain lending and operating policies consistent with those established by the Bank.
• Actively manage client portfolio to maximize return and credit quality.
• Analyze customer financial product needs and provide appropriate banking solutions through cross-selling.
• Keep abreast of regulations and legislation affecting the Bank.
• Create and sustain relationships with local centers of influence for referrals.
• Travel to business owner properties/locations for meetings.
• Perform walk-through inspections of commercial buildings and construction areas.
• Interpret technical data and reports based on environmental and appraisal information.
• Re-evaluate past commercial and building loans in terms of cash flow.
• Protect the bank's assets and maintain quality of portfolio by adhering to lending processes and regulations.
• Compliance with all relevant Bank policies and procedures.
