The MV-75 Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) is the Premier Vertical Lift military program in the world. Bell's MV-75 FLRAA aircraft will become the Army's primary assault aircraft for the next 30 years, sunsetting UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters and advancing the Army's assault capabilities. The MV-75 program is utilizing the latest in cutting edge technology to expand the United States Army’s tactical advantage in future conflicts. The Bell MV-75 team seeks the top engineering talents from around the industry to design, develop, and deliver the world’s next-generation military aircraft. This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX and will work at both Headquarters and the SIL in Arlington, TX at the Flight Research Center. Navigation Systems Integration Engineer The Bell V-280 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) Future Vertical Lift (FVL) Program has opportunities available for Navigation System Integration Engineers within the FLRAA Mission Systems Team. The Navigation Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for the architecture, development, integration, test, and certification of the Navigation System for the FLRAA program. System responsibilities include the development and integration of the navigation hardware and software architecture utilizing strategic initiatives like Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). This role is integral as part of a multifunctional team, working with other IPTs, suppliers and communicating with the customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in aircraft system/sub-system development and integration.
  • Experience with integration and certification of aviation navigation systems and components, including an Embedded GPS/INS (EGI), Radar Altimeter, TACAN, VOR, ILS, etc.
  • Experienced with development and analysis of system architectures
  • Knowledge of RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, RTCA DO-236, RTCA DO-200, AC 20-138, SAE ARP4754, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 27, AC 25-11B and Part 29 for commercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems, and multiple data protocols.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with integration and certification of flight management systems.
  • Experienced with verification by analyses, within a systems integration lab, and through Flight Test
  • Experience with schematics, physical aircraft installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with change and configuration management processes.
  • Knowledge of Open Systems Standards (FACE, HOST, JCA, or MOSA (Modular Open Systems Architecture/Approach)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate the Navigation System architecture and functionality through collaboration with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, functions, and design considerations
  • Decompose aircraft and system-level functions and requirements for allocation to item level with consideration for System Safety
  • Lead Navigation System validation, verification, and qualification activities throughout the program lifecycle
  • Integrate key engineering disciplines with the Navigation System including Human Factors, HMI, Cyber Security, Safety, Reliability, Flight Controls, Avionics and Vehicle systems.
  • Resolve Navigation System integration issues, manage problem reports, and change requests
  • Coordinate with IPTs, suppliers, and stakeholders to execute design plans and reviews
  • Lead design through all phases of development from pre and detailed design, integration testing, qualification, flight test, and production.
  • Define and coordinate system, subsystem, and component qualification activities for the Navigation System
  • Evaluate and manage suppliers, including technical assessments of supplier schedules and deliverables
