About The Position

As a member of the naval architecture department at Gibbs & Cox, you will engage in ship design and integration engineering, applying naval architecture principles to address contemporary maritime challenges. This role involves working on various phases of ship design, from conceptualization to post-delivery support, contributing to the development of innovative ship design solutions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to acquire Secret Security Clearance.
  • BS or Advanced Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
  • 0+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Naval Architecture software tools such as RHINO, GHS, SHCP, NavCAD, AutoCAD, and MS-Office.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • PE license in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering preferred.
  • Experience with US Navy ship design and construction preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hydrostatic assessments including weight estimates and stability evaluations.
  • Perform hydrodynamic analyses such as hull design and resistance predictions.
  • Develop general arrangements and compartment outfitting plans, including aviation and topside integration.

  • Competitive salary range of $53,950.00 - $97,525.00 based on experience and qualifications.
