The Counselor is responsible for assisting the Day Camp Site Supervisor and/or Day Camp Coordinator, with the day-to-day planning, organizing, and implementation of all aspects of the camps, and supervision and safety of campers and volunteers. This is an at-will position. Other duties and responsibilities include: Help the Site Supervisor develop weekly lesson plans to cover basic activities for the class. Interact with the children in both one on one and group activities. Assist in record keeping with sign-in/sign-out, Epact, taking attendance, collecting permission slips, keeping each child’s information sheet up to date, and filling out accident/incident reports as needed. Assist in finding a substitute when ill or absent. Prepare for weekly art projects (cut out items, prepare paint, glue, etc.) Assist in keeping facility, supplies and equipment clean and safe by reporting breakage and safety problems. Assist in clean up and straightening up of room before, during and after each session. Comply with the District’s Dress Code by coming to work in clean, presentable clothing and wearing an employee name tag. Perform other duties as assigned.
