About The Position

The Division of Parks & Watercraft is seeking energetic, passionate individuals who enjoy the outdoors to fill the Natural Resources Technician 2 position. This role is headquartered at Deer Creek State Park in Pickaway County, Ohio, located at 20635 State Park Rd 20, Mt. Sterling, OH 43143. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the park's facilities and ensuring customer satisfaction and safety. Requirements

• 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in semi-skilled maintenance functions (i.e., minor electrical repair, rough plumbing repairs, carpentry & masonry)
• 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in equipment safety practices
• 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in use of shop, hand & power tools
• 6 mos. trg or 6 mos. exp. in operation of mowers & trucks
• 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in equipment maintenance
• Valid driver’s license
• 6 mos. exp. as Natural Resources Technician 1, 22621
• Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above

Responsibilities

• Work outside in some of the most beautiful parks in Ohio
• Perform customer service functions with a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction and safety
• Maintain campground facilities, grounds &/or equipment
• Maintain a variety of park equipment and vehicles
• Work in different field operations including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, masonry, and operating hand and power tools
• Interact daily with a variety of customers who utilize the park & watercraft facilities

Benefits

• Starting hourly pay of $20.85/hr. with multiple pay increases over your first 4 years of service, with an end salary of $22.96/hr.
• Cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied
• Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service
