About The Position

The National Service Administration Leader for Cancer is responsible for the administrative oversight of the cancer clinical service line, including strategies, business plans, facilities, operations, and quality of care for patient services across the full spectrum of care. This role involves close collaboration with Senior Leadership to ensure that clinical services support the academic mission and operate financially successfully. The leader will be accountable for the overall strategic positioning and operational success of the defined clinical National Service Line across the Enterprise, focusing on maximizing value, access, quality, growth, care delivery, academic and research priorities, clinician well-being, and financial performance. The position requires the development and execution of clinical strategies across all divisions and venues of care for the Cancer National Service Line, aligning with the organizational strategy.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Health Care Administration or related field.
  • Typically requires 15 years of experience in overseeing physician practices, healthcare administration, or strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior administrative leader for a clinical service line to ensure alignment of strategic priorities and goals with clinicians.
  • Co-lead clinical service line leadership structure with senior physician leader to ensure ongoing dialogue between clinicians and stakeholders.
  • Provide internal direction and consulting services to stakeholders including Division, Medical Group, and shared services leadership.
  • Direct and control clinical service line budget and resource allocation to meet goals and objectives.
  • Assess technology, industry developments, reimbursement trends, and market dynamics to develop strategic plans.
  • Maintain knowledge of clinical service line products and articulate value propositions to enhance safety and health outcomes.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and Enterprise level resource within the defined clinical service line.
  • Develop key performance dashboards and analyze trends to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Lead workforce planning for the clinical service line in collaboration with senior physician leader and division leaders.
  • Support merger and acquisition activity with expertise on candidate assessments and facility needs.
  • Partner with Market Growth and Business Development to identify growth opportunities.
  • Establish strategy to increase clinician engagement and alignment.
  • Identify transformational care opportunities and develop programmatic strategies.
  • Manage Enterprise clinical level service line budget and support annual facility and growth budgets.
  • Perform human resources responsibilities including interviewing, promotions, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and recommend operating and capital budgets and control expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct.
