This is an exciting and flexible position where you will work directly with students to make a big impact on both their futures and the reputation of BYU. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the NSPF coordinator in promoting prestigious scholarships and providing extensive scholarship application feedback. Position Description: Our NSPF office is under the direction of the dean of BYU Undergraduate Education. We focus on a small number of prestigious scholarships for junior and senior undergraduates to attend elite graduate schools. Ideally, we begin working with students in their first or second year of university to prepare them to apply for these scholarships. Note, that this is a part-time position that works 10 to 15 hours per week.

  • Assist the NSPF coordinator in promoting prestigious scholarships (Fulbright, Truman, Rhodes, Marshall, etc.) on campus and serve as a campus contact for these scholarships.
  • Work with student employees and meet with students, often one-on-one, as they prepare scholarship applications.
  • Provide extensive, in-depth feedback on students' written application drafts.
  • Correspond regularly with students, faculty, and national scholarship offices.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and priorities
  • Experience working with students
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Graduate degree
  • History of academic achievement
  • Familiarity with higher education administration
  • Advisement credentials and/or experience
