About The Position

The National Sales Training Manager at Subaru of America is responsible for the strategy, development, deployment, and optimization of sales training for the Subaru Field Team and retailers. This role involves creating a cohesive curriculum that informs, educates, evaluates, and motivates various stakeholders to enhance sales knowledge, increase retail sales, and improve customer experience. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and managing the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure effective training delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (BA, BS).
  • 10-12 years of experience in sales training or related fields.
  • Extensive knowledge of retailer operations at both retail and wholesale levels.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and training approaches.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching to facilitators.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate all Subaru products.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain responsibility for Subaru Sales training curriculum strategy and assets.
  • Perform an assessment of training needs for Subaru retailer staff and corporate requirements.
  • Develop professional-level training curriculum in-house and with selected vendors.
  • Determine curriculum content and design to meet company objectives.
  • Create sales training programs that integrate selling skills with product knowledge.
  • Lead the strategy for the Learning Management System (LMS) to enhance learning experiences.
  • Drive continuous improvement of LMS content and resources.
  • Manage relationships with LMS providers, including contract negotiations and performance evaluations.
  • Provide orientation for new Zone Retailer Training Managers (ZRTMs) and key personnel.
  • Conduct 'train the trainer' sessions with ZRTMs and Regional Product Training Managers (RPTMs).
  • Assist RPTMs in skills assessment and action planning for ZRTMs.
  • Partner with Product & Retail Operations Training Managers for Retailer Driving Events.
  • Lead agency partners in developing research and development strategies.
  • Coordinate activities for the National Training Conference (NTC) and National Business Conference (NBC).
  • Facilitate training sessions to capture eLearning content.
