About The Position

American Liver Foundation (ALF) is the nation's leading non-profit organization dedicated to liver health and disease prevention. ALF promotes education, advocacy, support services and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease. PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE: ALF is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven National Manager, Community & Corporate Engagement to strengthen local business involvement in ALF’s signature fundraising and awareness events. This position is responsible for engaging and recruiting local businesses to form teams and/or serve as sponsors for Liver Life Walk events, while also supporting corporate sponsorship outreach and prospecting for FLAVORS, the National Legacy Gala and Liver Life Challenge. This role plays a critical part in expanding ALF’s corporate and community footprint by cultivating new business relationships, strengthening existing partnerships, and driving sustainable revenue growth through team participation and sponsorship. The National Manager will work closely with Event and Development colleagues to ensure a coordinated and strategic approach to corporate engagement across multiple event platforms. We are looking for a strategic fundraiser with a deep understanding of nonprofit Peer-to-Peer corporate engagement and a proven track record in community engagement. You will partner closely with national staff colleagues in Program, Development, Partnership, Events and Digital communications and support to ensure successful execution of activities. Position may be asked to assist with other Event Department fundraising initiatives on an as needed basis, including travel. This position reports to the National Director, Events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in education, training and experience.
  • The job holder must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License
  • 5+ years in non-profit, fundraising, event planning or relevant experience.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Great attention to detail and quality of work product.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, stay organized and manage several projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Strong skills working with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), especially Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Online CRM database, Word Press, Zoom and GoToMeeting experience a plus.
  • Must enjoy working as a member of a team with an attitude of "pitch-in", and "no-job-is-too-small", on multiple projects and handle pressure with grace.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships with business owners, executives, and community leaders to drive long-term engagement and retention.
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies targeting chambers of commerce, business associations, and corporate networks.
  • Collaborate with Regional Liver Life Walk event staff and leadership volunteers to align corporate team recruitment with overall Walk strategies and timelines.
  • In collaboration with the National Regional Managers, Liver Life Walk, engage and empower local volunteer committees to assist with corporate engagement via sponsorship outreach, hosting lunch and learns, team sign up days, etc.
  • Support sponsorship prospecting and outreach efforts for Liver Life Walk, FLAVORS, the National Legacy Gala and Liver Life Challenge.
  • Identify new corporate sponsorship prospects and assist with cultivation strategies in collaboration with the Events and Development teams.
  • Prepare sponsor proposals, outreach materials, and follow-up communications as assigned.
  • Manage sponsor stewardship, including recognition, fulfillment, and post-event reporting.
  • Partner closely with Event, Development, and Public Affairs colleagues to ensure consistent messaging and coordinated outreach.
  • Participate in regular planning meetings related to events, sponsorships, and corporate engagement initiatives.
  • Be accountable for regional Liver Life Walk performance by executing against established fundraising and participation goals and contributing to year-over-year growth through strong fundraising strategies, team development, and volunteer leadership engagement
  • Oversee corporate stewardship, including thank-you communications and post-event recognition.
  • Under the direction of the National Director, Events, increase corporate engagement for all signature events by following industry and ALF best practices.
  • With support from the National Director, Events, drive and deliver greater revenue and stronger relationships, with a focus on planning, partnering, stewarding, and effectively executing, to increase sponsorships, participant/attendee recruitment and revenue and engage the liver community for the Liver Life Walk Campaign.
  • Manage, track, and report outreach activities using spreadsheets and other tracking tools to ensure accurate documentation of engagement, follow-up, and progress toward campaign goals.
  • Maintain frequent outbound phone communication, including high-volume calls during peak campaign periods to engage participants, team captains, volunteers, medical partners, and community stakeholders; strong verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Maintain third party platforms including, but not limited to, Julep, Summa, WordPress, GiveSmart, LiverWorks, etc.
  • Complete special projects as assigned and partner with national departments when applicable to ensure organizational excellence.
  • Actively participate in learning opportunities for professional growth and self-improvement.
  • Prepare periodic progress reports as assigned.
  • Attend in-person and virtual ALF meetings, programs and events when requested to do so.
  • All other duties as required.
