About The Position

Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy across North America, is seeking a National Health & Safety Manager to join our team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The National Health & Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and elevating the organization's HSE programs across all U.S. operations. This role requires a proactive leader who can influence teams, drive cultural change, and serve as a trusted HSE partner. The individual should bring substantial experience in high‑risk construction environments—especially electrical, high voltage, utilities, and/or renewable energy sectors such as solar, wind, and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems). What will you do as a National Health & Safety Manager at Spark Power? Conduct regular field visits to job sites across service areas to perform inspections, audits, and safety engagements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of HSE experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Direct experience in one or more of the following sectors: -Construction -High voltage electrical -Utilities -Solar, wind, or BESS renewable energy
  • Proven track record of influencing culture and coaching field and leadership teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record with the ability to travel to customer sites or branches regularly.
  • OHSA & NFPA knowledge.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% including to field sites and or branches regularly.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, CUSP, CRSP, NEBOSH, or similar.
  • Experience leading HSE programs across multiple states or national operations.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001/14001/9001 management systems.
  • Experience with BESS systems, energy storage, substations, or utility scale renewables.
  • Working knowledge of several software applications including Microsoft Office Suite and additional software solutions.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and model a strong safety-first culture.
  • Mentor, coach, and influence employees at all levels to reinforce safe work behaviors.
  • Lead the national HSE strategy, aligning with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Build relationships throughout the organization to drive meaningful safety engagement.
  • Conduct regular field visits to job sites across service areas to perform inspections, audits, and safety engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HSE regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA 70E, NESC).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company HSE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root-cause analyses.
  • Monitor HSE performance indicators and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide on-site support for project teams across the U.S.
  • Support construction activities involving high voltage electrical systems, substations, utilities, renewables, and BESS.
  • Lead site HSE audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness and response planning.
  • Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and worker competency programs.
  • Develop and grow internal HSE talent through coaching and mentoring.
