About The Position

GFT Infrastructure is currently seeking a National Alternative Project Delivery (APD) Leader, who will be responsible for managing the overall execution and procurement processes of all alternative projects in the GFT portfolio. This position crosses all business lines within GFT, including transportation, water, power, construction services (including EPC) and buildings and places. The option exists to work fully remote to work from any of our GFT US Locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering minimum.
  • Minimum 20 years’ experience in complex multi-discipline highway project design management, including one or more Design-Build and/or PPP projects as Design Manager.
  • Demonstrated financial and risk management acumen.
  • Experience in Risk management analysis and techniques, including Monte Carlo analysis desirable.

  • Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.) desired.
  • Legal terms & conditions negotiation skills.
  • General Contractor (horizontal & vertical) experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with GFT business line leaders in the successful implementation of design-build projects, progressive design build projects, integrated project delivery, construction management-at-risk, private-public partnerships, and EPC.
  • Manage the corporate APD Risk portfolio and work with GFT legal and insurance to guide executive management on the corporate risk generated by APD projects across all business lines.
  • Responsible for the overall coordination and delivery of design on large complex alternative delivery projects nationally.
  • Maintain diverse relationships with the Contractor, Owner Representatives, and project stakeholders.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate multi-discipline design staff from multiple business lines in a high intensity environment.
  • Work with project controls and scheduling staff to manage the project, analyze Earned Value and Schedule performance.
  • Ensure project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Manage overall quality and coordination of the APD work performed, client interface, utilization of staff, and project profitability.
  • Participate in interviews and presentations for support and growth of the APD practice nationally.
  • Hold weekly APD Risk committee meetings with senior management staff to assess and review prospective APD projects.
  • Serve as a GFT executive representative at client meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews.
  • Develop, review, and confirm financial and project delivery schedule activities of design and construction.
  • Ensure project team complies with contract agreements and exercises cost control.
  • Lead, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate project assignments.
  • Interact with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and professional organizations.
  • Attend national design-build and other APD conferences representing GFT.
