About the position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Narrowband Satellite Communications Engineer - Junior to support the Department of Defense (DoD), specifically U.S. Space Force/Space Systems Command (SSC)/CGN (Narrowband SATCOM Acquisition Delta). In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the integrity and traceability of all configuration items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle. This includes overseeing the tracking, identification, and control of CIs, maintaining compliance with industry regulations and standards, and managing the organization's documents management system in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the tracking, identification, and control of configuration items throughout their lifecycle.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Manage and oversee the documents management system.
  • Define and document configuration management requirements, ensuring accurate and up-to-date configuration data.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the organization's Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).
  • Schedule CCBs, prepare packages, route, track, and draft meeting notes.
  • Maintain and enforce the Configuration Management Plan and Quality Control Plan.

Requirements

  • Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in an Information Security or related role preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work with personnel across multiple disciplines of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for change control board processes and management.
