About The Position

The selected intern will work for NANA's Communications department, contributing to high-quality projects related to communication, shareholder communications and media relations. The internship is based in Anchorage, AK. The NANA Shareholder College Internship is a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. NANA will provide lodging and transportation for applicants outside the Anchorage/Matsu Valley area. For more details, feel free to reach out! Requirements

  • Applicants must be a shareholder of NANA Regional Corporation, Inc., or a direct descendant of a shareholder. In accordance with NANA's Shareholder Preference Hiring Policy, priority will be given to NANA shareholders first, followed by shareholder descendants.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be currently enrolled in college or a vocational school full-time and have completed one semester of postsecondary education.
  • Proficient written communication skills: write, edit, proofread materials.
  • Proficient oral communications skills: speak one-on-one or present to groups.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-moving environment and juggle multiple, competing tasks, able to lift 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • The ideal candidate is studying Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Computer Programming, Web Development or Business.
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NANA’s vehicle insurance policy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating content for social media.
  • Write for NANA publications including The Hunter and social media.
  • Work under supervision to plan events.
  • Work under direction help maintain the digital inventory.
  • Learn and deploy skills related to introductory graphic design tools (Adobe Express, Premiere Pro, other Adobe Creative Suite applications).
  • Assist with intern interviews including videography and video editing.
